About me

YATRI SANAT JOSHI

To me, good design realises the aesthetic and spatial potential of any given space. It involves considered choices teamed with a  sense of bravery. As a designer, I have built up a strong understanding of how interiors can come together - from the architecture of a space to the furniture and soft furnishings that fill it. It is complemented with an appropriate colour palette, choice of materials and finishes - all equally important. Each of these elements is essential to creating one cohesive look that is both resolved and innovative.

As a designer, I am required to design ultimately for my clients. This flexibility, along with an ever-changing industry has imbued me with an innate sense of creative freedom. Also on a personal level, I have an immense appreciation for a range of design periods and styles. Hence for me, spaces truly work when balance is created through combinations and contrasts of different elements which should tell stories about the people who inhabit them.

Also in today's time, contemporary design has to encompass several key issues: financial, spatial, social and most importantly, environmental points of view, all of which need to be addressed by the client and the designer, together to add value and beauty to the space.

In the past, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some exceptional clients on projects that span from residential refurbishments and new-builds to key commercial and hospitality fit-outs. I spent 2 years working with Samira Rathod as a Senior Designer and 1.5 years at Design Ni Dukan where I built a comprehensive portfolio that displays my ability to work across a range of interior genres. After that for last 5 years I have been working as a full time freelance designer and getting into individual furniture, landscape design, mural, painting, light and space design as well. Having completed a Bachelor of Design at VNSGU, Surat Gujarat, I am formally educated and trained in an industry that I truly love.
